Blacksmith
Raises equipment power for Emeralds and rerolls eligible effects for Echo Shards. Includes the published ceiling, escalating costs and all five unlock locations.
Services and limits
Use power upgrades when you want to keep an item's identity and effects while improving its power. Use rerolls when you want to replace an eligible effect. These are separate services with separate currencies.
Talismans cannot be power-upgraded here. The reviewed data does not establish a way to reroll a Unique's fixed identity effect, every effect's slot-specific eligibility, or the exact probability of each replacement. Check the service preview before committing.

Blacksmith levels and upgrade cost
Levels are shared across Blacksmith locations. Dungeons.tools also lists Common at level 1, while Wikily's tutorial lists Rare. Since ordinary Common items have no rolled effects, that listing alone does not establish a useful Common reroll service.
| Vendor level | Cost from previous level | Cumulative shards | Recorded reroll access |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Unlocked by quest | 0 | Rare |
| 2 | 20 Echo Shards | 20 | Adds Special |
| 3 | 40 Echo Shards | 60 | Adds Unique |

Power upgrade formula and worked example
Dungeons.tools publishes a maximum upgrade power of floor(hero level × 1.5). Each paid step raises Item Power by one. Cost depends on the power when the item dropped, rarity, and the total levels gained including the step being purchased.
Let P₀ be dropped power and n the upgrade number from that original drop. Rarity factors are Common 1, Rare 1.1, Special 1.2 and Unique 1.3. The source's examples truncate each step before summing; using only the current power as a fresh starting point would underprice an already upgraded item.
Cost of step n = floor((10 + P₀ + 5) × rarity factor × (1 + 0.25 × n))| Rare item dropped at Power 20 | Target power | Emerald cost |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade 1 | 21 | 48 |
| Upgrade 2 | 22 | 57 |
| Upgrade 3 | 23 | 67 |
| Upgrade 4 | 24 | 77 |
| Upgrade 5 | 25 | 86 |
| Upgrade 6 | 26 | 96 |
| Upgrade 7 | 27 | 105 |
| Upgrade 8 | 28 | 115 |
| Upgrade 9 | 29 | 125 |
| Upgrade 10 | 30 | 134 |
| Total for all ten steps | 30 | 910 |

Reroll history and shard costs
The published reroll price increases every two attempts on the same item and caps at 20 shards per attempt. The counter persists for that item; moving towns does not create a new item. A newly acquired item begins its own history.
Price of reroll n = min(20, ceil(n / 2)), where n starts at 1| Attempt on the item | Echo Shards per attempt |
|---|---|
| 1–2 | 1 |
| 3–4 | 2 |
| 5–6 | 3 |
| 7–8 | 4 |
| 39 onward | 20 |
Practical comparison: the first six attempts total 12 shards. That is a budget calculation, not a guarantee of receiving the desired effect. The exact replacement pool must still be eligible for that item; unknown odds prevent a reliable expected reroll cost.

Before paying the Blacksmith
- Compare the item's power and useful effects with your available replacements.
- For upgrades, check hero level, current power, dropped power and previous upgrades.
- For rerolls, check vendor level, the eligible effect slot and the displayed price.
- Budget for several attempts only if the possible outcomes are worthwhile; no target effect is guaranteed.
- Keep enough inventory and currency space for your next run.
